"Aish provides opportunities for Jews of all backgrounds to discover the beauty and meaning of their heritage in an atmosphere of open inquiry and mutual respect."

Aish Toronto is a branch of Aish HaTorah International , one of the leading Jewish educational movements in the Jewish world today with 26 branches spanning 5 continents.

Aish Toronto was founded in 1981, beginning in a 900 square foot basement office. Today Aish Toronto comprises a variety of inspiring educational programs as well as three learning centers and two vibrant synagogues.

These two shuls, The Aish Thornhill Community Shul and The Village Shul are communities that aspire to the Aish philosophy of learning, and sharing Judaism in a non-judgmental way and promote the taking of responsibility for Jewish pride, Jewish unity and Israel.

Aish believes that Judaism has something to offer to todays’ Jews in all areas of his or her life. The cutting edge programs are upbeat, provocative, and contemporary. Aish Toronto’s AishCampus programs include trips to Israel on the highly popular Jerusalem Fellowships and Hasbara Fellowships, trips to New York, leadership development with the Maimonides Program, career development and much more. Aish Toronto's Young Professional Program includes personal development classes, dating and relationships, career advancement and many opportunities for leadership in the city and beyond.

Aish Toronto’s family programming, including the Jewish Family Institute and Aish Young Couples, addresses the Jewish approach to personal relationships, child rearing, ethics, and life cycle events.

Together with its supporters, Aish HaTorah is pro-actively meeting the challenges of ignorance and apathy towards Jewish identity. Through strengthening our Jewish spirit, legacy and heritage, Aish Toronto is ensuring a strong Jewish future for our children, our grandchildren, and ourselves.
