|The 30 Day Challenge|
This week begins the Jewish month of Elul, the last month of the year, which means Rosh Hashanah is just 30 days away! In the Jewish calendar, this 30-day time period leading up to the New Year is an intense time focused on spiritual growth and introspection.
As this video below explains, 30 days seems to be an optimum amount of time to commit to a new task, undaunted. We are more likely to live up to our resolution if we commit to it for 30 days. And those 30 days can bring about a real, lasting change.
So this week, take the 30-day Elul challenge and pick one positive action that you know you can stick to for 30 days, Check out the video below and have a great 30 days. At the end of the 30 days, write us and let us know how it went.
Jerusalem Fellowships Trip
In May, 40 university students from Toronto and the University of Western Ontario joined together on a trip of a lifetime. For three weeks, they heard from world renowned speakers, saw the amazing sights of their Homeland, connected with each other over discussions of the heritage, and came back home newly inspired and ready to continue their new-found relationship with a 3,300 year old Jewish history. Welcome back to all the students and congratulations to our rabbis for an amazing trip!
Aish Toronto Ladies Tea
On May 25th, over 100 women came out on a beautiful day to an magnificent tea hosted by Mrs. Leah Warner. The event was an overwhelming success. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported Aish Toronto through this event.
The FIX Cooks with DANI
This summer the FIX teamed up with DANI for an amazing event! Approximately 90 kids, teens and adults came to the new DANI centre in Thornhill to decorate cookies, make pizza, package sandwiches, and craft friendship bracelets to be distributed to the city's homeless by the wonderful organization, Ve'ahavta.
Kathy Laszlo, founder of DANI, and Shawna Meshwork of Ve'ahavta both spoke about the importance of our contribution to the community and how much impact the participants of the FIX can make when they get involved with the special needs young adults of Dani and the city's homeless supported by Ve'ahavta.
